Ms Zorina Gafoor-Chin – BSc (Architect), Executive Diploma, Management.

Ms. Zorina Gafoor-Chin is the Project Engineer for the EU/LIHP. She manages and supervises the activities for the formulation of the designs and implementation of the work on sites to promote Low Income Housing Schemes and upgrading infrastructures in squatting areas.     Ms. Gafoor-Chin is a graduate of the University of Guyana with 10 years experience in the Sugar Industry in Guyana. She also holds an executive diploma in Management from the Institute of Business, University of the West Indies. Her working experience is primarily with the Engineering Services Department of Guysuco where she was responsible for the design and rehabilitation of all buildings and some field structures on the various sugar estates as well as the Head Office.     Some of the major projects which she worked on during her time at Guysuco include the Aircraft Hangar at Ogle, the Agriculture Research Laboratory at LBI and the Head Office at Ogle. She has also created new designs for the Fertilizer Bonds and Punt Slips on the Estates.     Since her commencement of work in the project unit, Ms. Gafoor-Chin has seen the successful launching of nine tenders. She took part in the evaluation and contract preparation of three projects. Additionally she has compiled the site maps in electronic format for easy reference and updating.
